British paramotor pilot Dan Jones sets FAI World Record with minutes to spare

Throughout winter 2024, paramotor pilot Dan Jones was constantly weather watching. Poring over meteorological data, he spied a window of opportunity for 3 March. His mission? To fly a 500km triangle and beat the 13-year-old FAI World Record held by Peter Schulz of Germany: Distance in a closed circuit without landing. Jones managed to fly 516,95km for the world record, beating Schulz’s 504,167km, set in 2011.

Italy - gold in Class 1, Austria - Class 5, Peter Benes CZE and Naoki Itagaki JPN are the new World Champions

The 24th FAI World Hang Gliding Class 1 and 10th FAI World Hang Gliding Class 5 Championships have finished in Ager, Spain. The event was held from 13-26 July 2025. It was organised by Club Zenith Vol Lliure with the support of Federación Aèria Catalana and Real Federación Aérea Española. Six tasks were flown with 115 pilots competing in Class 1, and 32 in Class 5.

Two world firsts at next week’s 2025 FAI F3K World Championships for Model Gliders

The upcoming 2025 FAI F3K World Championships for Model Gliders taking place from 26 July to 2 August in Tarp, Germany – will feature the first-ever Female Individual World Champion title in the history of the F3K class, marking a milestone in gender recognition. The event also represents the first time Germany has hosted the F3K class of aeromodelling at world championship level.
