Fierce Competition Unfolds at 2024 FAI F3F World Championship for Model Gliders

Yesterday, at the 2024 FAI F3F World Championship for Model Gliders, the weather conditions at the slope of St. Ferriol were ideal, and 6 full rounds of flying were completed. That means the competition is now on round 13, and with two more days of flying, more rounds will likely be added. The weather forecast for Friday is not so promising, but optimism remains.

New Electronic Event Management System introduced at the 2024 FAI F3F World Championship for Model Gliders

The 2024 FAI F3F World Championship for Model Gliders, currently underway in Limoux, France, has embraced innovation with the introduction of a cutting-edge electronic event management system that enhances the organisation and control of the competition. This technology aims to improve efficiency and accuracy in event operations.

PGA Euro 2024 in Albania starts with 3 zeros and 7 ones.

The 8th FAI European Paragliding Accuracy Championships have launched in Gjirokaster, Albania. It is organized by the “Albania Open Air” club on behalf of the “Albanian Air Sports Federation” - the NAC of Albania. The event will be held from Oct 4 to Oct 12, 2024. 100 pilots from 22 countries (including 2 guest countries)  - in total 81 men and 19 women - came to compete in Gjirokaster.
The event began with Category 1 Judges training carried out by the chief judge of the event, followed by participants' on-site registration.

This event, scheduled to take place from 6 to 12 October and organised by the French Aeromodelling Federation, promises to be a thrilling display of skill, precision, and model glider engineering.

Solar-generated hydrogen balloon takes flight in Gruyère, Switzerland

An innovative gas balloon flight took place this morning 25 September 2024 in the region of Gruyère, Switzerland. What sets this flight apart is its unique power source: the hydrogen used to fly the balloon was generated from water using solar energy only.

Renowned Swiss pilots Laurent Sciboz and Nicolas Tièche, champions of the 2019 Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett (the FAI Long Distance Gas Balloon World Championships) were at the helm of the balloon.
